The Rosebud Motel, the fictional site of much hilarity on the Emmy-winning Canadian sitcom Schitt's Creek, is now for sale for $1.6 million. Known as The Hockley Motel in real life, the 6.8-acre property is situated near Canada's Nottawasaga River, just outside the city of Mono, Ontario. The motel has seven units that each have a bathroom and bedroom, as well as a detached cottage and barn and a two-story manager suite with three bedrooms and one bath. The property is a 5-minute drive from a high-end resort called The Hockley Valley Resort, which helps to draw in the area’s more than 55,000 visitors annually.

Co-created and -starred by father and son Eugene and Dan Levy, Schitt's Creek follows a formerly wealthy family as they grapple with now being completely broke. The Rosebud Motel—located in Schitt's Creek—is where the family moves when they lose everything.

Motel Hockley might be well known for its role in the award-winning TV show, but it’s actually been featured in numerous other series and films throughout the years. A property overview brochure from Collier's International points out that the motel was been featured in an episode of Netflix's Umbrella Academy, the film a History of Violence, and Hulu’s series 1.22.63.

Back in 2012, the current owner, Jesse Tipping, purchased the motel for $820,000, meaning he stands to make a return of $700,000 if he sells it at or above the asking price. No surprise, as its prime placement on the series has made the motel somewhat of a tourist destination for fans of the show. It would probably do well as a Schitt’s Creek-themed motel, should the new owners also want to make a buck on it.
